A Blue Badge can give you exemption from some parking restrictions and access to designated parking spaces.
In England, Scotland and Wales the Blue Badge scheme has been extended to include people with non-visible disabilities. This makes it easier for people with conditions such as dementia. Applicants may need to provide an official diagnosis of a cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia and may need to show evidence that their condition means they are unable to plan and follow any journey.
A Blue Badge costs up to £10 in England and £20 in Scotland. It’s free in Wales.
They usually last up to 3 years. You must reapply for a Blue Badge before your current one expires.
